The Bike Shed’s Cafe Racer Cup is hosted at Lydden Hill Race Circuit, Wootton, Canterbury, Kent, CT4 6ET

We chose Lydden Hill for this event mainly because the track is well maintained, easy to learn, and gives spectators great views from pretty much anywhere. There are new, toilets, marquees, food vendor spaces and a modern control tower. It’s also very easy to get to from London, less than 90 minutes down the A2 from the Blackwall Tunnel, in a car on a weekday – and much faster on a bike. We reckon 1 hour and 10 mins on Saturday am.

Lydden Hill is a one mile, mixed surface, motor racing venue situated halfway between Canterbury and Dover hosting an array of Motorsport action on two, three and four wheels. Over recent years the circuit has played host to events including the BHP Show, Classic Festival, Vintage Motorcyle Racing, BTRC Truck Festival, British Drift Championship, British Supermoto, FIA World Rallycross and the MSA British Rallycross to name a few. The mixed surface circuit made up of both asphalt and loose was the birthplace to Rallycross back in 1967 which has lead to an amazing year of 50th anniversary celebrations throughout 2017. Obviously we’ll be sticking to the tarmac!
